Prudence \Pru"dence\, n. [F., fr. L. prudentia, contr. from
providentia. See {Prudent}, and cf. {Providence}.]
The quality or state of being prudent; wisdom in the way of
caution and provision; discretion; carefulness; hence, also,
economy; frugality.
