   An alkaloidal ureide, {C7H8N4O2}, homologous with and
   resembling caffeine, produced artificially, and also
   extracted from cacao and chocolate (from {Theobroma Cacao})
   as a bitter white crystalline substance; -- called also
   {dimethyl xanthine}.
