Payndemain \Payn`de*main"\, n. [OF. pain bread + demaine
   manorial, lordly, own, private. See {Payn}, and {Demesne}.
   Said to be so called from the figure of our Lord impressed
   upon it.]

   called also {paynemain}, {payman}. [Obs.]
