Jacksnipe \Jack"snipe`\, n. (Zool.)
   (a) A small European snipe ({Limnocryptes gallinula}); --
       called also {judcock}, {jedcock}, {juddock}, {jed}, and
       {half snipe}.
   (b) A small American sandpiper ({Tringa maculata}); -- called
       also {pectoral sandpiper}, and {grass snipe}.
