Stifle \Sti"fle\, n. [From {Stiff}.] (Far.)
   The joint next above the hock, and near the flank, in the
   hind leg of the horse and allied animals; the joint
   corresponding to the knee in man; -- called also {stifle
   joint}. See Illust. under {Horse}.
