Hornbug \Horn"bug`\, n. (Zool.)
A large nocturnal beetle of the genus {Lucanus} (as {Lucanus
capreolus}, and {Lucanus dama}), having long, curved upper
jaws, resembling a sickle. The grubs are found in the trunks
of old trees.
