Homaloptera

Pupipara \Pu*pip"a*ra\, n. pl. [NL. See {Pupiparous}.] (Zool.)
   A division of Diptera in which the young are born in a stage
   like the pupa. It includes the sheep tick, horse tick, and
   other parasites. Called also {Homaloptera}.
