Hogframe \Hog"frame`\, n. (Steam Vessels)
   A trussed frame extending fore and aft, usually above deck,
   and intended to increase the longitudinal strength and
   stiffness. Used chiefly in American river and lake steamers.
   Called also {hogging frame}, and {hogback}.
