   {Betided}, Obs. {Betid}; p. pr. & vb. n. {Betiding}.] [OE.
   bitiden; pref. bi-, be- + tiden, fr. AS. t[imac]dan, to
   happen, fr. t[imac]d time. See {Tide}.]
