Hymen \Hy"men\, n. [L., fr. Gr. ?.]
1. (Class Myth.) A fabulous deity; according to some, the son
of Apollo and Urania, according to others, of Bacchus and
Venus. He was the god of marriage, and presided over
nuptial solemnities.
