Zemni \Zem"ni\, n. (Zool.)
   The blind mole rat ({Spalax typhlus}), native of Eastern
   Europe and Asia. Its eyes and ears are rudimentary, and its
   fur is soft and brownish, more or less tinged with gray. It
   constructs extensive burrows.
