Xanthopuccine \Xan`tho*puc"cine\, n. [Xantho- + puccoon + -ine.]
   (Chem.)
   One of three alkaloids found in the root of the yellow
   puccoon ({Hydrastis Canadensis}). It is a yellow crystalline
   substance, and resembles berberine.
