Tachyglossa \Tach`y*glos"sa\, n. pl. [NL., fr. Gr. tachy`s quick
   + glw^ssa tongue.] (Zool.)
   A division of monotremes which comprises the spiny ant-eaters
   of Australia and New Guinea. See Illust. under {Echidna}.
