Spica \Spi"ca\, n.; pl. {Spicae}. [L., an ear, as of corn.]
   1. (Med.) A kind of bandage passing, by successive turns and
      crosses, from an extremity to the trunk; -- so called from
      its resemblance to a spike of a barley.
