Sesquioxide \Ses`qui*ox"ide\, n. [Sesqui- + oxide.] (Chem.)
   An oxide containing three atoms of oxygen with two atoms (or
   radicals) of some other substance; thus, alumina, {Al2O3} is
   a sesquioxide.
