   A constellation on the equator, lying between Scorpio and
   Hercules; -- called also {Ophiuchus}.

   serpent; 'o`fis a serpent + ? to hold.] (Astron.)
   A constellation in the Northern Hemisphere, delineated as a
   man holding a serpent in his hands; -- called also
   {Serpentarius}.
