Septifragal \Sep*tif"ra*gal\, a. [Septum + L. frangere, fractum,
   to break.] (Bot.)
   Breaking from the partitions; -- said of a method of
   dehiscence in which the valves of a pod break away from the
   partitions, and these remain attached to the common axis.
