Saccharate \Sac"cha*rate\, n. (Chem.)
      (a) A salt of saccharic acid.
      (b) In a wider sense, a compound of saccharose, or any
          similar carbohydrate, with such bases as the oxides of
          calcium, barium, or lead; a sucrate.
