Revision Control System
RCS

   <software, tool> (RCS) A {version control} system that
   automates the storing, retrieval, logging, identification, and
   merging of revisions.  RCS is useful for text that is revised
   frequently, for example programs, documentation, graphics,
   papers, and form letters.
