Pycnodontini \Pyc`no*don"ti*ni\, n. pl. [NL.] (Zool.)
   An extinct order of ganoid fishes. They had a compressed
   body, covered with dermal ribs (pleurolepida) and with
   enameled rhomboidal scales.
