   pennatifolius} jaborandi; L. pilus hair + Gr. karpo`s fruit:

   An alkaloid extracted from jaborandi ({Pilocarpus
   pennatifolius}) as a white amorphous or crystalline substance
   which has a peculiar effect on the vasomotor system.
