Phosphoresce \Phos`phor*esce"\, v. i. [imp. & p. p.
   {Phosphoresced}; p. pr. & vb. n. {Phosphorescing}.]
   1. To shine as phosphorus; to be phosphorescent; to emit a
      phosphoric light. Generally, to emit light at temperatures
      too low to excite incandescent radiation.
