Palamedeae \Pal`a*me"de*[ae]\, n. pl. [NL.] (Zool.)
   An order, or suborder, including the kamichi, and allied
   South American birds; -- called also {screamers}. In many
   anatomical characters they are allied to the Anseres, but
   they externally resemble the wading birds.
