Comanches \Co*man"ches\ (? or ?), n. pl.; sing. {Comanche} (? or
   ?). (Ethnol.)
   A warlike, savage, and nomadic tribe of the Shoshone family
   of Indians, inhabiting Mexico and the adjacent parts of the
   United States; -- called also {Paducahs}. They are noted for
   plundering and cruelty.
