Any of several pikelike marine fishes of the West Indies and
tropical America constituting the family {Oxylabracidae},
esp. the largest species ({Oxylabrax undecimalis}, syn.
{Centropomus undecimalis}), a valuable food fish called also
{snook}, the smaller species being called
