Muscardine \Mus`car*dine"\, n. [F.]
   A disease which is very destructive to silkworms, and which
   sometimes extends to other insects. It is attended by the
   development of a fungus (provisionally called {Botrytis
   bassiana}). Also, the fungus itself.
