Monesia \Mo*ne"sia\, n. (Pharm.)
   The bark, or a vegetable extract brought in solid cakes from
   South America and believed to be derived from the bark, of
   the tree {Chrysophyllum glycyphloeum}. It is used as an
   alterative and astringent.
