Labroid \La"broid\, a. [Labrus + -oid.] (Zool.)
   Like the genus {Labrus}; belonging to the family
   {Labrid[ae]}, an extensive family of marine fishes, often
   brilliantly colored, which are very abundant in the Indian
   and Pacific Oceans. The tautog and cunner are American
   examples.
