   ? vessel, capsule: cf. F. hydrang['e]e.] (Bot.)
   A genus of shrubby plants bearing opposite leaves and large
   heads of showy flowers, white, or of various colors.
   {Hydrangea hortensis}, the common garden species, is a native
   of China or Japan.
