GNUMACS
 /gnoo'maks/, n.

   [contraction of `GNU EMACS'] Often-heard abbreviated name for the
   {GNU} project's flagship tool, {EMACS}. StallMACS, referring to
   Richard Stallman, is less common but also heard. Used esp. in contrast
   with {GOSMACS} and X Emacs.
