   Islands.] (Bot.)
   A species of grass ({Tripsacum dactyloides}) tall, stout, and
   exceedingly productive; cultivated in the West Indies,
   Mexico, and the Southern States of North America as a forage
   grass; -- called also {sesame grass}.
