Chromatoscope \Chro"ma*to*scope`\, n. [Gr. ?, ?, color +
   -scope.] (Astron.)
   A reflecting telescope, part of which is made to rotate
   eccentrically, so as to produce a ringlike image of a star,
   instead of a point; -- used in studying the scintillation of
   the stars.
