Chromatic \Chro*mat"ic\, a. [L. chromaticus, Gr. ?, suited for
   color, fr. ?, ?, color; akin to ? color, ? skin, color of the
   skin.]
   1. Relating to color, or to colors.

      semitones) of the scale, instead of the regular intervals
      of the diatonic scale.
