Argas \Ar"gas\, n.
   A genus of venomous ticks which attack men and animals. The
   famous Persian Argas, also called {Miana bug}, is {Argas
   Persicus}; that of Central America, called {talaje} by the
   natives, is {Argas Talaje}.
