   1. (Med.) A filling up; restoring a defective part;
      especially, promoting granulation of wounds or ulcers.

   2. (Med) The process of restoring the depleted cellular
      metabolic intermediate pools; most commonly used to refer
      to the restoration of the citric acid cycle intermediates
      pool.
