Verity \Ver"i*ty\, n.; pl. {Verities}. [F. v['e]rit['e], L.
   veritas, fr. verus true. See {Very}.]
   1. The quality or state of being true, or real; consonance of
      a statement, proposition, or other thing, with fact;
      truth; reality. "The verity of certain words." --Shak.
