Simia \Sim"i*a\, n. [L., an ape; cf. simus flatnosed,
   snub-nosed, Gr. ???.] (Zool.)
   A Linnaean genus of Quadrumana which included the types of
   numerous modern genera. By modern writers it is usually
   restricted to the genus which includes the orang-outang.
