Sarmentose \Sar`men*tose"\ (? or ?), a. [L. sarmentosus: cf. F.
   sarmenteux. See {Sarment}.] (Bot.)
   (a) Long and filiform, and almost naked, or having only
       leaves at the joints where it strikes root; as, a
       sarmentose stem.
   (b) Bearing sarments; sarmentaceous.
