   (a) In England, a large salmon trout of several species, as
       {Salmo trutta} and {Salmo Cambricus}, which ascend
       rivers; -- called also {sea trout}.
   (b) {Salvelinus malma} of California and Oregon; -- called
       also {Dolly Varden trout} and {red-spotted trout}.
