Riga fir \Ri"ga fir`\, [So called from Riga, a city in Russia.] (Bot.) A species of pine ({Pinus sylvestris}), and its wood, which affords a valuable timber; -- called also {Scotch pine}, and {red deal} or {yellow deal}.
