Fishhawk \Fish"hawk`\, n. (Zool.)
   The osprey ({Pandion halia["e]tus}), found both in Europe and
   America; -- so called because it plunges into the water and
   seizes fishes in its talons. Called also {fishing eagle}, and
   {bald buzzard}.
