Mellite \Mel"lite\, n. [L. mel, mellis, honey: cf. F. mellite.]
   (Min.)
   A mineral of a honey color, found in brown coal, and partly
   the result of vegetable decomposition; honeystone. It is a
   mellitate of alumina.
