Jerboa \Jer*bo"a\, n. [Ar. yarb[=u]`.] (Zool.)
   Any small jumping rodent of the genus {Dipus}, esp. {Dipus
   Aegyptius}, which is common in Egypt and the adjacent
   countries. The jerboas have very long hind legs and a long
   tail. [Written also {gerboa}.]
