Iulus \I*u"lus\, n. [L., down, Gr. ? down, centipede.] (Zool.)
   A genus of chilognathous myriapods. The body is long and
   round, consisting of numerous smooth, equal segments, each of
   which bears two pairs of short legs. It includes the
   galleyworms. See {Chilognatha}.
