Hyper- \Hy"per-\ [Gr. "ype`r over, above; akin to L. super, E.

   1. A prefix signifying over, above; as, hyperphysical,
      hyperthyrion; also, above measure, abnormally great,
      excessive; as, hyper[ae]mia, hyperbola, hypercritical,
      hypersecretion.
