Forkbeard \Fork"beard`\, n. (Zool.)
   (a) A European fish ({Raniceps raninus}), having a large flat
       head; -- also called {tadpole fish}, and {lesser forked
       beard}.
   (b) The European forked hake or hake's-dame ({Phycis
       blennoides}); -- also called {great forked beard}.
