Batrachoid \Bat"ra*choid\, a. [Batrachia + -oid.] (Zool.)
   Froglike. Specifically: Of or pertaining to the
   {Batrachid[ae]}, a family of marine fishes, including the
   toadfish. Some have poisonous dorsal spines.
