Pannier \Pan"nier\, n. [F. panier, fr. L. panarium a bread
basket, fr. panis bread. Cf. {Pantry}.]
1. A bread basket; also, a wicker basket (used commonly in
pairs) for carrying fruit or other things on a horse or an
