n. {Marring}.] [OE. marren, merren, AS. merran, myrran (in
comp.), to obstruct, impede, dissipate; akin to OS. merrian,
OHG. marrjan, merran; cf. D. marren, meeren, to moor a ship,
Icel. merja to bruise, crush, and Goth. marzjan to offend.
